Alexus Laster (she/her) is an assessment-driven student affairs practitioner pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies at Howard University. Prior to joining Howard, Alexus Laster served as the Assistant Dean of Students and Executive Director of Access and Opportunity Programs at Medaille University, located in Buffalo, NY.  Alexus’ professional background is centered on intentional efforts to improve diverse student outcomes using assessment and institutional accountability. As a critical social constructivist, she uses her research to highlight the unique challenges and experiences of Black students enrolled in higher education. As such, Alexus plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between theory and practice to better equip institutions to serve their growing diverse populations

Alexus currently serves as the graduate assistant for the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment and focuses on special projects that showcase the excellence that is produced at The Mecca.
