Institutional Effectiveness at Howard University is realized when our academic and administrative units close the loop on their student learning and student development outcomes. These efforts result in continuous improvement at the unit level, and ultimately, for the University.
At Howard, we maximize the synergies of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Accreditation by embracing the‘Three A’s of Institutional Effectiveness’ (Assessment, Accreditation, and Accountability) to achieve our goals. Institutional Effectiveness facilitates the Annual Assessment Academy to review Howard Annual Assessment Process (HAAP) plans. This review process confirms units are establishing meaningful goals and annually engaging in continuous improvement. IE uses Accreditation to ensure students continue to receive an excellent education that translates beyond the institution. IE demonstrates Accountability to our community members by committing to institutional transparency through reporting[1],[2],[3] and research activity.
