Course Audit Process

The Office of the Provost has instated a Course Audit Date of February 28, 2025 for the Spring 2025 semester.

After the Course Audit date, all instructor information currently visible in Coursedog and BisonHub will be integrated into Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys. Ensuring that instructors are correctly listed within Coursedog—the system that populates BisonHub—is essential to maintaining accurate records and supporting effective course evaluations. 

Please follow the instructions below by the deadline of February 28.  

Course Audit Verification Instructions 

Step 1: Verify Instructor Assignments 
  1. Review the Spring 2025 Course Sections Report to confirm: 
  • The assigned instructor is correct for each course section. Please designate the appropriate instructor for courses that do not have an assigned instructor through Coursedog Scheduling. Refer to Steps 2-4 for guidance.   
  • For courses that do not have an officially assigned instructor, the instructor field should be left blank. A representative from the Office of the Provost will follow up with the department to assist.  
Step 2: Log In to Coursedog Scheduling Management 
  1. Access Coursedog via app.coursedog.com 
  2. Log in using your credentials. If you encounter login issues, contact scheduling@howard.edu. 
Step 3: Navigate to Create Request 
  1. Select "Requests" from the main menu. 
  2. Choose "Courses" to create a “Section Change” request. 
Step 4: Update Instructor Assignments 
  1.  In the “Type of Change” field, select “Edit Section.”  
  2. Enter the appropriate course section and the “Reason for request.” 
  3. Locate the "Instructor" field. 
  4. Edit the assigned instructor. If the instructor is missing, click “+Instructor" and enter the required details. *For course sections with more than one instructor, please enter only one instructor. 
  5. Select “Submit Request.” 
Step 5: Submit Verification Form 
  1. Once the review and all updates are complete, go to the Audit Verification Form, which has been emailed to all chairs. Email the Assessment Team if you need access to the Audit Verification Form.
  2. Fill out the form, confirming that all course instructor assignments have been reviewed and updated as necessary. 
  3. Submit the form before the Course Audit Date: February 28. 

 

*Exceptions

In situations where multiple instructors teach a course, please enter one of the instructors into CourseDog.  

Unfortunately, at this time it is not possible to assign multiple instructors in CourseDog/BisonHub. The teams responsible for those systems are working on a solution. For courses with multiple instructors, chairs must use the  Manage Courses feature within Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys to ensure all instructors receive an evaluation.
